Please join us for a short morning adventure with the opportunity to safely gather outdoors with fellow Sierra Nevada Region PCA members. Grab your snowshoes (or rent from options below), bundle up and join us for our FIRST SNOWSHOE EVENT to the incredible, stunning views at Chickadee Ridge.  Enjoy a moderate to easy gradual 400 foot climb to the ridge, taking approximately 30-40 minutes, 3.0 miles roundtrip.  Delight in the possibility of a curious chickadee landing on your hat, head or outstretched hand as you take in the spectacular vista of Desolation Wilderness and Lake Tahoe.  Total snowshoe time is about 2 hours.  Opportunities for showshoeing along parts of Tahoe Rim Trail after reaching Chickadee Ridge.

* We are limited participation to 15 individuals so sign up early so that you don’t miss out *

** In the event of high winds, huge snowstorm or blizzard conditions the ‘Trek’ will be postponed **

Meet Time:  9:30am

Meet Location:   Tahoe Meadows Parking Area across from Sled Hill.

Directions:  From Reno, take Mt. Rose Hwy 431 to Mt. Rose Summit. Continue past summit down to the open meadows. Proceed to far west side of the meadows, make a careful U-turn to park on the south side across from the sled hill.

BRING:  snowshoes, poles, water, snack, sunscreen, sunglasses, layered clothes. Can be windy at the top.

MASKS REQUIRED when in close proximity to others.
