A surprise birthday celebration was held during our March Wine Social to honor two club members having reached a milestone. Johanna Waizmann (left) and Millie Smith (right) were both born on March 15 in 1944, Johanna in Hamburg and Millie in San Francisco. There was some speculation that Millie may be slightly younger due to the difference in time zones.
Jeri Sjoberg provided the birthday cake (Guinness brownies with Bailey’s frosting) that we enjoyed … and found quite appropriate on this Saint Patrick’s weekend. We did have a little difficulty in lighting the candles (they’re not used to Guinness?).
