Porsches & Pastries (July 15 & September 5) by Debby Hertel

In the midst of a Pandemic, we found an enjoyable alternative to safely replace our traditional monthly breakfast at Lili’s Restaurant, with two summer sunshine gatherings at Bartley Regional Ranch Plaza Pavilion.   Adhering to the Washoe County guidelines for maximum allowable gatherings, 50 members gathered on July 11th and 25 met on September 5th.   Everyone enjoyed plentiful boxes of Einstein Bros. Bagels and pastries, Doughboy Donuts and a hot cup of coffee.   Munching donuts over socially distanced conversation provided a great opportunity to meet many new members and reconnect with good friends not seen for several months.

Porsches lined the parking spots near the covered pavilion.  The ample parking lot provided the opportunity to linger while admiring some of the members latest purchases.  We hope to continue Porsche and Pastries as much as possible during the Fall and Winter months.  Be on the lookout for the SNV-PCA calendar of events for the next date and place on the first Saturday of the month from 9:00-11:00am.

A special thank you to Denise and Ron Lewis for graciously picking up the donuts and helping with set up, and to those who assisted cleaning up after the event.  An additional thank you goes to Beverly Babcock and Graeme who took time to deliver leftover bagels, pastries and donuts to a local senior living center to be enjoyed by the residents.
