Please join for us for a fun club drive to Graeagle for a barbecue on Saturday, July 23. This event is hosted by Blake and Terry Martelle at their home in Graeagle. There is no charge for the barbecue (hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, & beans) and drinks (beer & water), graciously provided by our hosts and the club. Wine and soda drinkers will need to bring their own drinks. Please bring your own chair if possible.

The drive will start from the McDonald’s on Wedge Parkway (Mt Rose Hwy). We’ll meet there at 9 am to sign waivers, distribute route maps, chat a bit and then following a short driver’s meeting will leave promptly at 10 am to head Southwest on Mt Rose Hwy (431). After cresting Mt Rose and reaching the roundabout at Incline Village we’ll swing West on 28 toward King’s Beach. In King’s Beach we will leave 28 to pickup 267 and proceed Northwest toward Truckee where after passing over the Truckee River and under 80, 267 will at the first roundabout become Hwy 89. We’ll continue Northwest on 89 to Sierraville and then turn left onto Hwy 49 and follow 49/89 Northwest to just beyond Sattley where we will leave 49 and head Northwest on 89 through Calpine and White Hawk and passing by Valley Ranch and Clio until we reach Graeagle. At the North end of Graeagle, we’ll turn left at the Mountain Frostee (picture on right) onto Johnsonville Road and follow it a short distance and then turn left onto Goldridge Rd.  This route is designed to entertain our Porsches with lots of curves and for those who are fans of roundabouts there are no less than five along the way. Depending on the amount of summertime traffic we encounter, we may take a detour through King’s Beach that will save us a half hour of bumper-to-bumper congestion and reduce the total number of roundabouts to three. The detour will be shown in the route maps.
