Sierra Nevada Region has organized a two-part event (possibly 3 if the drive is included) on Friday May 31st with bistro lunch followed-up with a whiskey tasting and distillery tour.  Please see details of each event below and select which or all events you like to attend so our hosts can plan accordingly.

Event 1:  Lunch served at 12:00 PM (please arrive by 11:45 AM)

Gastronomic French Bistro 3 course lunch at Woodett’s Diner in Gardnerville.

Christelle and Remon Zamalis are owners of Woodett’s since 2021 and bring a distinct French flair to this Gardnerville staple located at 1492 US Hwy 395 N, Gardnerville. Their highly successful, sold-out bistro dinners showcase classically trained Chef Remon’s skills in the kitchen. Sign up for this exclusive PCA lunch and enjoy their friendly hospitality.

The prix-fixe menu is $45 per person (includes tax and gratuity) for a choice of one appetizer, choice of one main course, and a choice of one dessert. Soft drinks are included. Wine or beer is extra. Please select meal choices listed below. A registration table will be in reception with name cards/preselected menu items.

1. Beef burgundy with pasta
2. Fish in pastry with seasonal vegetables.
3. Chicken in a cream sauce with mushrooms and rice

1. Crème Brulée
2. Ice cream with biscotti
3. Chocolate Mousse

Event 2: Starts at 2:00 PM (please arrive by 1:45 PM)

The whiskey tasting and tour event is now full.  We have reached Minden Mill’s capacity of 48. Lunch at Woodett’s is still open.

Tour and Tasting at Minden Mill.

Now owned by the Foley Family, the Minden Mill facility includes an American whiskey and white spirits distillery, housed in a 100-year-old creamery, and an American Single Malt Whiskey distillery housed in a 100-year-old flour mill. Both buildings sit on the National Register of Historic Places.  The drive from Woodett’s to Minden Mill is less than a mile, going north on US 395. Turn right onto Buckeye at the lights and right into the Minden Mill parking lot.

A registration table will be in reception. The PCA-exclusive tour and tasting is $30 per person. Designated drivers pay $10 for just the tour but still able to join the group in the tasting room (to keep an eye on their partners). The Mill will welcome a group of up to 48 PCA members for this event, split into 4 groups of 12 for a tour of the facilities led by Minden Mill’s staff of mixologists and distillery experts with groups rotating for whiskey tasting. The event should conclude around 4:30 PM.

Once these limited places are taken, others may still participate in, and pay on-site for, a public tasting in their own time or be in, and pay on-site for, a public tour group starting around 4pm.

Event 3: Starts at 9:45 AM

The Drive to Woodett’s. (event depending on level of interest)

Please indicate if you are interested in a group drive (optional) to Woodett’s. The plan is to meet up at McDonalds in South Reno at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM departure. Head up Mount Rose Highway to Incline Village. Head down to Spooner Lake, then over Highway 50 to Highway 395, south Carson City. Take US 395 south through Minden into Gardnerville to arrive at Woodett’s.  Estimated drive time is 1-3/4 hours, approximately 65 miles.

Reservations and payment

Reservations are required with payment on this website. Payments are non-refundable. Reservations are accepted until 7 days before the event so our hosts can plan accordingly.
