Dustoff Tour 2019 by Pete and Carol

Lead by Pete Dickinson and Carol Lytle, 16 Porsches left the McDonald’s on Mount Rose Hwy early Saturday April 19th, on their way to the Heyday Inn in Wellington. The tour wound its way up Geiger Grade, stopping at American Flats to assemble into one group, before passing through Virginia City. Then it was down 342 through Gold Hill and Silver City to Highway 50, a left turn on Highway 50, then out east to the Ramsey Cutoff, and south on 95 to Yerington for a comfort stop at a minimart/gas station. While there we received news of Deven’s passing and in shock proceeded south on 95/339, before swinging West on 208 and passing through Wilson Canyon and Smith Valley to arrive at the Heyday Inn. There we enjoyed a wonderful Basque style lunch where no one went hungry, followed by a fun raffle hosted by Pete and by group pictures in front of the Inn. Saying our goodbyes, we squeezed back into our cars and travelled separately up 395 to our homes in Gardnerville, Carson City, Reno/Sparks, and points North.
